Kristina views our lives as a series of short stories woven together by experiences; some joyful and divine, others confusing and painful. She provides a safe space for you to process your emotions, experiences, and relationships while affirming your inner strength, tenderness, and worth.

Kristina has experience in the areas of identity, self-esteem, life changes, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, relational issues, and women’s experiences. Kristina works with children (over the age of 8), adolescents, adults, and couples. Kristina acknowledges how race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and culture impact our life experiences and affirms clients of all backgrounds and identities.

Kristina’s therapeutic approach draws from Relationally Focused Psychodynamic Theory (RFPT), person-centered therapy, attachment theory, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Additionally, Kristina completed The Art of Holding Perinatal Women in Distress Advanced Training with Karen Klienman, MSW, and Hillary Waller, MS in March 2023.

Kristina is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Limited Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling from Western Michigan University. Kristina has been practicing with Mindful Counseling GR since 2018.
