There are so many uniquely wonderful parts of being human that are sometimes obscured by the uniquely difficult parts. With love and care comes anxiety; with friendship and community comes comparison. April believes that therapy isn't about eliminating these challenges, but about learning to navigate them while still embracing the joys of life.
April specializes in working with individuals who find themselves trapped in cycles of people-pleasing, constantly striving to meet others' expectations at the expense of their own needs. She helps clients develop a stronger sense of self, set healthy boundaries, and cultivate relationships that honor their authentic selves.
April also has a particular interest in working with the LGBTQ+ community. She offers a safe, affirming space for identity exploration and addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals in this community. She understands that identity development is a complex, ongoing process and is committed to supporting clients every step of the way.
Graduating from Grand Valley State University in 2022, April received her Master in Social Work. Since then, she has personalized her approach which incorporates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as a more relational approach, recognizing that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful tool for healing and growth. Through this work, April hopes to help her clients discover that they don't have to compromise their genuine selves to find peace and connection in the world. April looks forward to building a collaborative relationship where you have the opportunity to explore and cultivate your own path towards well-being.
